So, in came Epic and clearly offered them an initial payment, increased revenue on their profits and (if they use UE for the game), no fee in using the engine. As DF moved to Microsoft, this company were left to self publish, a very costly process - especially if they've had the Safety-net of a publisher up until a few months ago. Remember, this game is being created by a small team who were originally financially covered by Double Fine who had signed up to publish them. We get it, you don't like the EGS - you don't have to post about 20 comment threads saying the same thing though. Every time someone announces they've gone to Epic, the comment sections becomes a mess with all these pointless posts.
